Grieving a Pet

(None of the links in this post are affiliate links and I do not make commission off of them.)           As some of you may know, I lost my best friend, Blue to a degenerative disease (that was never identified) a few weeks ago. He was only five years old. I thought I was going to take Blue with me to my first home. I even had thoughts of making him my ESA, but illness befell him out of left field this year, and he was gone within a few months.         I felt so many things from anger to sadness to injustice. I had lost my best friend that I thought was supposed to live much longer than he did but he didn’t. It didn’t feel fair or right and now I had a huge hole where he once was. So I thought something that may be helpful for others is to make a list of things that have been helping me cope with his loss.  Decorating the Grave         Something that has helped me heal tremendously is decorating his grave. Update and Album Review; Star-Crossed by Kacey Musgraves

Image
First of all, I have been gone for a few weeks. Instead of uploading once a month, I did have a spell there where I uploaded every week! I was proud of myself for doing this, but it wasn't hard! This blog is my safe space and I loved to update. However, as I mentioned in my last post, I lost a lot of motivation for it due to recent life events and disappointment in my own content.        As a quick update; I know you came here for the album review and not my baggage, so I apologize in advance, but I am in the process of rehoming my cat, as you can see via my Instagram, so I have been down about that. My last piece was a video of me reacting to the accompanying movie to this album and I was not allowed to repost any of the content from the movie for copyright purposes, so you would have no clue what moments I was reacting to when I posted it. That and the lighting was bad and I just felt too awkward in front of the camera at times. I decided to sc...

Late posts 😔

Hey all. I made a video last week in preparation for this weeks post, but the more I look at it, the more unhappy with it, I become. In the meantime, I will work on a new blog post and get it up in time next week. Thanks for being understanding! ✌🏼 Send good vibes my way! It’s been a rough last few weeks 💕

August Favorites ❤️

Image
Hey y'all! August is finally passed, and we are finally saying hello to September and fall! I cannot wait for autumn, but before we move forward, we must look back; in this case back to this month's August favorites! Song- "I am Not a Woman, I'm a God'- Halsey I love this song with all my being. It is the perfect 'bad-bleep-Addison-Rae' song for waking up in the morning and getting ready. I have always been a fan of Halsey, and their work, but for me "If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power" is hands down her best album. I would highly recommend giving it a listen if you haven't already. Some other favorites I have off this album are "Bells in Santa Fe" and "Lilith." This totally has confidence inducing, comfort album potential. 2.  Favorite activity - picnicking 💕  My favorite activity this month has been picnicking! I realized how beautiful my backyard is and just started to picnic there! It’s so peaceful to spend time aw...

Favorite movies 🍿

Image
Hello everyone! School has just started and I am so excited to be back and learning again  🤓  but another thing I’m excited to be doing is getting more time to movie watch! So I thought I would share some of my favorite movies! 1. The Secret Garden The Secret Garden is a timeless, all time favorite of mine. I read the classic novel and received the movie as a gift for my 9th birthday. I watched it over and over again. I love the magic of finding a place that only you know about. All the secrets Mary was finding in the manor sparked so much excitement in me when I was young. As I grow older I can appreciate and understand the characters, as well as enjoy the theme more. The appreciation for something as simple as a garden is so healing, and this movie reminds one of that.  2. Little Women Little Women was the last movie I saw in a real theatre when it came out in January 2020, and am I glad it was! I also read this classic but not all the way through! So the twist ...

What To Do Inside on a Rainy Day

Image
Hello everyone! It has been raining all day today, but unlike some, I love the rain. It gives us a good atmosphere to stay inside, spend time with our families, or spend much needed time with ourselves. So here are some ideas for a fun day indoors. 1.  Learn something new-  I can’t speak for everyone but I know my bookshelf is full of untouched books chalk full of interesting and useful information. From ‘Herbal Remedies’ to “The History of Fashion,” there is a plethora of different things to read about. It never hurts to expand the knowledge of your mind. If you don’t have any books on hand, you may be able to check them out for free through an electronic library, or use the internet for your research. Whether book or phone, make sure your author is using reliable sources, and have fun learning.  Work on a project-   At the moment, I am toiling away with a little cross stitch, just begging to be finished and framed. Whether seamstress, artist, crotchet-er, or aspiri...

My June Faves 🏖

Image
Hello friends! It has been a hot minute since I uploaded any articles! This month has been a busy whirlwind, I feel, with a full time job and preparing for vacation, but last week I was finally able to take a looong break from it all.  A lot has happened! A lot of experiences and fun, so without further ado, here are my June favorites! 1. Song ~ You Right- Doja Cat Miss Doja! She came out with a new unexpected album titled “Planet Her” and I could not have been more excited. I have loved Doja since her Amala era and couldn’t wait to see what this album had in store. Though it is definitely subject to change, my favorite song at the moment is ‘You Right ft. The Weeknd.’ The moral is arguably questionable but music is less about morals and more about stories and experiences; right or wrong. I think what drew me to this song in particular is the beat behind it all. The production gave me a heavy feeling of immersion, as if I were being pulled into the world and feelings o...
