Hello friends! It has been a hot minute since I uploaded any articles! This month has been a busy whirlwind, I feel, with a full time job and preparing for vacation, but last week I was finally able to take a looong break from it all.
A lot has happened! A lot of experiences and fun, so without further ado, here are my June favorites!
1. Song ~ You Right- Doja Cat
Miss Doja! She came out with a new unexpected album titled “Planet Her” and I could not have been more excited. I have loved Doja since her Amala era and couldn’t wait to see what this album had in store. Though it is definitely subject to change, my favorite song at the moment is ‘You Right ft. The Weeknd.’ The moral is arguably questionable but music is less about morals and more about stories and experiences; right or wrong. I think what drew me to this song in particular is the beat behind it all. The production gave me a heavy feeling of immersion, as if I were being pulled into the world and feelings of the people in the story. I also really appreciate an R&B inspired track. Some other favorites I had off this album were ‘Naked’ and ‘Woman.’ ♥️

2. Film - In the Heights
I adored 'In the Heights!' Though it has its problems, such as colorism in casting, which has been addressed by the producer, it is still a wonderful piece of representation for the Latin community here in the United States, and shows the struggles many majority minority neighborhoods face due to gentrification. The music and characters are incredibly lovable, and while I do still prefer the musical, this movie was still a treat to watch and my favorite film this month.
3. Wardrobe Piece - Barefoot sandals When I was in high school, I went through a bit of a boho phase. During that time, I probably would have killed for a pair of these. I found this pair at a small shop in Clearwater on my vacation called "The ten dollar jewelry outlet." Everything really was ten dollars or less. These are super cute and were the perfect accessory for beach going.
4. Favorite food - Unicorn flavored ice-cream
I currently work at an ice-cream parlor. Everything we make is homemade and delicious, so my expectations as far as ice-cream from somewhere else went; well, they weren't high. Let me tell you, that changed. Me and my family stopped at the location "Ice & Cream" in Madeira beach, and I was hooked. Unicorn flavor owns me at the moment. A Cotton candy base with m&m's? Criminal. The cookie monster was a close second but one I would definitely go back for. It was so good, I dreamed about it.
(excuse my profuse sweating, Florida is literally hell lol)
5. Favorite Instagrammer - @terryaliceland
Taking the conversation away from vacation, let's talk my favorite Instagram content creator. I adore Terry's content. The relaxing pictures and short videos always give me the serotonin I need to get through the day. Cottagecore idealists want what only she can provide. Her feed is flawless as an aesthetic creator, and she is definitely someone I would recommend following. It's good for your health.

That is all for this month! I sincerely hope you enjoyed it! I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your June. As for me, I will be reading, working, writing, and hopefully getting some things ready to set up in my depop shop ( and a regular uploading schedule π.)
