Love and the Beach

I know, I know; the last thing people are thinking of is the beach right now! However, I went on a trip to the beach last month with my

best friend, and call me superstitious, but I did a tarot reading before I went that made a HUGE deal out of it. This trip meant a lot to me, and like all revelations I have, I wrote. I figured my gift for the holidays to you is a few of the poems I wrote while there. ❤️

(PLEASE DO NOT REPOST WITHOUT CREDIT!!!

These Are MY poems and MY poetry so please do not claim it as your own.)

The Ocean

How could I

Look at something so vast

And not believe under its surface

Is something mystical, magical, and wonderful?

I am already risking missing Lady Aphrodite’s arrival

Donned in white foam,

By taking the time to write this poem

Things worth dying to know/ things worth dying to feel

My fear of the ocean is like my fear of love

I am so drawn towards it,

Yet still so pushed away.

I douse myself in the waves for the feel of such a magical thing

But escape, terrified, when the sharks arrive

How do you reconcile the adoration and fear of such things?

How do you be content turning away the only thing you have ever wanted, due to the paralyzing prospect of pain?

But sometimes, When I peer out over the big blue reckless ocean,

I think it maybe worth it to die a horrible death,

If only to know and relish it’s haunting embrace before I perish.

And last but not least...

The Tides

I want to kiss someone

Like the ocean kisses the shore when the moon is new.

I know this post was short but I figured everyone is busy with the holiday things anyway. Thank you so much for reading, I wish you all a very happy holiday season!!
